Mobility Offers

To obtain the CentraleSupélec degree, all student-engineers must complete an international mobility placement of at least six months abroad (École Centrale program) or 16 weeks (Supélec program). So that each student can personalize their academic program to be aligned with their personal and professional project, CentraleSupélec offers many mobility programs.

This mobility can be completed within a company or a laboratory, or within a partner international university.

• Academic semester in one of several CentraleSupélec partner international universities (École Centrale and Supélec programs)
• International internship semester (École Centrale program only)
• Laboratory placement semester in an international private or public research organization (École Centrale program only)

In the 2nd year of the Engineering cycle, the exchange semester will take place in the 2nd semester (for both École Centrale and Supélec programs).

CentraleSupélec offers its students the opportunity to go abroad to complete a double-degree in more than 170 institutions located all over the world. This program gives students the opportunity to obtain a diploma from the host university and from CentraleSupélec.

• “Classic” double degree (within an exchange agreement, non fee-based training)
• “Classic” double degree (not within an exchange agreement, fee-based training)
• “Alternating” double degree (École Centrale program only)

The “classic” version replaces the 3rd year of the CentraleSupélec Engineering cycle. The “alternating” version replaces the 2nd year of the Engineering cycle (with a return to studies in the 3rd year after the mobility placement).

• A long professional experience: a 10-12 month internship or two shorter internships
• Gap year: personal project (humanitarian or nonprofit, etc.)

This non-compulsory internship is carried out independently from the Engineering program, and is completed between the 2nd and 3rd years.

École Centrale program

• One-year non-diploma Engineering program at Cambridge University, replacing the 2nd year of the École Centrale program
• One-year non-diploma Engineering program in Imperial College London, replacing the 2nd year of the École Centrale program
• Third-year program spent at Beihang University, replacing the last year at the CentraleSupélec Châtenay-Malabry campus

Supélec program

An agreement between CentraleSupélec and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) enables students to end their third Engineering degree year on the Georgia Tech Metz or Georgia Tech Lorraine campuses or the Atlanta campus, by following in parallel CentraleSupélec classes and the Master’s degree classes of Georgia Tech. Students thus obtain two prestigious degrees under optimal conditions.

In the same way, 3rd-year students on the Rennes campus can register for Managing Japanese Companies, a program offered by the Rennes Institute of Management (IGR - Université de Rennes 1).

In November 2013, CentraleSupélec – Supélec Engineering program and the Xi'an Jiaotong University (China) signed a double degree agreement on Smart Grids, enabling students studying with both institutions to live a shared and unique academic experience. This double degree can be offered to students of the École Centrale program.

The double degree, the semester abroad and certain specific programs cannot be combined. To receive a CentraleSupélec degree, all students must spend at least two years at one of our campuses.

The first- or second-year internship can also be a first opportunity to go abroad. However, this would not satisfy the compulsory mobility requirement.
